Games

The game presented here is a reproduction from a Kiowa pattern witch they called  ahl, or tsona (Mooney), collected at the end of the nineteenth century or at the very beginning of the twentieth century, on the Oklahoma territory. It is a board-game witch is playing at two or in two teams. Four wooden sticks and an animal skin, for instance, we painted the course on, are sufficient to play this game.
At the time when this game was collected, it was a women’s and girl’s game; it was played among the Comanche, Apache and Cheyenne Nations, and so among the Arapahoes whom called it« ne’baku’thana
».
